Hynds Downspout Filter
The Downspout Filter is a building-mounted filter designed to collect particulates, debris, metals, sediment, gravel and petroleum hydrocarbons from rooftop stormwater runoff.

Left untreated, these toxic substances enter the stormwater system and pollute our environment. The Downspout Filter captures and retains the pollutants at the source, preventing stormwater contamination.

The Downspout Filter performs as an effective filtering device at low flows (“first flush”) and because of the built-in high flow bypass, the systems’ maximum design flow will not be impeded.

All Downspout Filters are constructed of corrosion-resistant stainless steel. The working chamber of the system is made of a durable dual-wall geotextile fabric liner, encapsulating an absorbent that is easily replaced and provides for flexibility, ease of maintenance and economy.
Downspout Filters can be mounted onto the downspout pipes of any building.

Typical installation locations include:
  • Factories
  • Commercial buildings
  • Multi-story car parks
  • Office towers
  • Residential homes
Standard Downspout Filters are designed to accept either 100mm or 150mm diameter downspout pipes but special size or shape downspout pipe connections are available on request.
